On December 11, 2007, the Chicago Cubs signed Kosuke Fukudome to a four year, $48 million contract. As much as we love the Pontiac G8, we can’t honestly say that it would be our car of choice with that kind of money; however, Cubs right-fielder and lead-off batter, Fukudome would. Immediately after getting his driver’s license, he spent some of his $48 million on a 2008 Panther Black Metallic (80U) G8 GT.
Add Kosuke Fukudome to our list of celebs who love the Pontiac G8:
Video game developer, Midway has partnered with Vin Diesel to create a new game for the Xbox 360 and Sony PS3. The most recent of 3 trailers was just revealed yesterday and this is the first time G8Nation was aware of this game. The previous two trailers were released back in August and September of 2006.
Watching yesterday’s released trailer, we noticed that none other than the Pontiac G8 GT or GXP (judging by the rims, it’s either a pre-pro GT or a GXP) plays a large role in this game and is involved in some serious action. We dug a little deeper and came across the trailers released in 2006 and realized that the G8 GT was right under our noses in animated format back in August 2006.
Wheelman will also be a movie and both are scheduled to be released this fall. We’re keeping our eyes open to see the movie trailer and see the first big screen cameo of the G8.
