As the release of the G8 GXP draws closer, the level of anticipation and inquiries from G8Nation readers continues increasing. After joining our Pontiac G8 forum, member “middle” posted the following question in our “You Ask Pontiac” forum with the title of “Interior G8 GXP“:
“Do you know if the 09 G8 GXP is going to have a different two-tone leather. I’m looking to see if they would have the blue GXP with the two tone leather that is blue. The red is nice but it matches with the red and black g8 and possibly the silver. Just like the GTO they made blue leather for blue car.”
We took the question to Pontiac and asked for an answer and here’s what we found out about the 2009 Pontiac G8 GXP interior. There will not be a selection of exterior matching two-tone interiors as there was with the GTO. The only two-tone offering will be the existing red/black leather interior and will only be offered as an option on select exterior colors, including:
Additionally, those exterior colors will also feature a unique red instrument cluster to match the red insert on the seats.

I really like the interior shown above. I like it much better than the one with the red inserts. Now if I could talk my wife into a manual instead of an automatic.

I like the look of the red inserts, but I wish the G8 GXP would get more options like the GTO had. I don't understand why Pontiac won't reach into Holden's parts bin for stuff like this that will make a big difference.

What I think would look good is to have tan inserts available for the black and white cars. That would look nice.

tan inserts could look sweet. I love what Chevy did with the interior of the new Malibu….a similar approach with the G8 would work out nicely

Yeah, I agree that it looks better. If I had my way and it was a perfect world I would change the shade of tan slightly so it wasn't such a “redish” shade of tan. Here's the Malibu interior shot for people that haven't seen it yet.

Hi all,
I too like the two tone red interior, however, my color choices Pacific Slate and Sport Red are not included. I wish another two tone color option was available, but, I can live with the Black/Silver.

I “pimp” helicopters for a living and one of the things that we are seeing is thick string for stitching with an opposing color. In this case the stitching would be tan but no insert leather of a different color, the stitching alone makes it more classy.

good to have you here xfactor. I was just in the new Ford Flex Limited. I have to say it was a classy ride. anyway, nice black leather seats with thick white stitching….very very nice

About 6 places in the world but only 1 that is even close to competing. Anyway, can't wait for the GXP, I am driving my wife crazy with it.
