Newsday.com Reviews 2008 Pontiac G8

Posted on 09 May 2008

Newsday.com starts off their review speaking very matter-of-factly about the state of Pontiac. Making reference to crowded Pontiac showrooms filled with “Chevrolet and Toyota clones that try to get in your face with boy-racer aesthetic touches in a feeble attempt at a Pontiac brand personality…” A painful, yet accurate statement made by Newsday.com editor, Tom Incantalupo. Agree or disagree, let’s give the guy some credit for speaking his mind.

He continues by drawing parallels to the Pontiacs of yesteryear with greats such as the GTO, Firebird & Fiero, and even draws reference to the one Pontiac we’d all like to forget…the Aztek.

Not an overly positive or negative review, Incantalupo goes on to provide his assessment and the facts as they relate to both the G8 V6 and the G8 GT. Overall, he refers to the G8 as the glimmer of hope for Pontiac as it is the first rear-drive Pontiac sedan in more than 20 years and in his eyes, it looks like a winner.
