AutoBlog Review of G8 - Navi & XM Missing!

As we’re sure you have read by now, AutoBlog.com has written their review of the Pontiac 2008 G8 GT. As usual, the review is great and extremely thorough, but one statement in the review really has us tweaked.

“Our particular G8 didn’t arrive with a navigation system or XM satellite radio, and when we visited the Pontiac G8 microsite to build our own, we discovered that that these in-car entertainment options are not available at all.”

Either Robert Steinmiller and his trusty slim jim got to the G8 first and lifted the navi and XM or the 2008 Pontiac G8 GT doesn’t offer these features yet. XM will be standard in 2009, and as we all know, OnStar offers turn-by-turn directions on the 2008 G8 for a mere $9.99 per month.

We love AutoBlog just as much as the next guy, but we’re a little shocked by their lack of G8 knowledge. Come on AutoBlog…you know better than that. Are you really surprised by the absence of these features? This has been common knowledge for some time now. Besides, you guys have been following the G8 since before it was intro’d at the Chicago Auto Show, you’ve written approximately 130 G8 posts and didn’t you even drive the G8 back on February 29th?

Maybe we’re just jealous that we haven’t been given a G8 by Pontiac to review. Ahem…hint hint Mr. Lutz…but we’re just a little shocked by your surprise of a Pontiac G8 sans navi and XM.

In all seriousness, AutoBlog has done a great job with their review. Click on over if you haven’t done so already, and enjoy yet another great write up from them. Maybe one day they’ll actually publish one of the tips submitted by G8Nation.
